 Long trip activities
« Thread Started on May 4, 2005, 12:40pm »

Here is a cute idea for those kids that get restless on long trips. My family and I took one huge trip last year. We took a 9 hour drive from our house to my parents, and then the next day we flew from my parents to my brother's place for a wedding that was going to take place a few days later. The day of the wedding we drove from my brother's to the wedding destination which was 2 hours away. Well, let me tell you, my 2 year old son was getting a little restless from all the travelling. On the way back, my mom and I came up with a plan. We took small toys of his that he hasn't played with in a while, and also hit the dollar stores for little odds and ends. During the trip, when ever he became restless we gave him one of the individually wrapped toys to unwrap and play with. It was a hit and I use it everytime we travel now. He got the excitement of unwrapping the present and then he had a "new" toy to keep him busy for awhile. ;)
